If you think a crime show set in Paris won’t make you fall even more head over heels in love with the city of lights, then think again. This show intertwines two of French people’s favorite hobbies: murder mystery and art. Each episode is linked somehow to art, whether it’s a crime at the Louvre, or one inspired by an Edgar Degas painting that holds all the secrets, or mysterious hieroglyphs on an Osiris statue which could explain a murder.
The show, with its rhythm and witty dialogue, is occasionally reminiscent of Columbo. But what really sets L’art du crime apart is the beautiful cinematography, whether it’s in the streets of Paris, in the Louvre or Moulin Rouge, or in 15th century castles.
