• Part 1: Inspector Adamsberg worked with Franck Mathieu in the past on a complex case involving a serial killer. When Mathieu contacted him about a strange murder in Louviec, Brittany, Adamsberg didn't hesitate to act. In the name of their friendship, he sets off with his team to help Mathieu.
• Part 2: Adamsberg and Mathieu are sure: a serial killer is on the loose. They need to identify his motive to catch him before he can do any more harm. The key to the enigma is closely linked to regional folklore. Lying on a dolmen, Adamsberg uses his imagination to find the solution.
