In 2013, a train carrying a large load of oil derailed while passing through the town of Lac-Mégantic, Quebec. The multiple explosions and fires caused forty-seven deaths; two thousand people were evacuated. Inspired by true events, this fiction follows the fates of the residents of Lac-Mégantic devastated by the train disaster.
