Pont Aven, Gauguin's Brittany
When he arrived in Pont Aven in 1886, Paul Gauguin was still an impressionist painter, disciple of Pissarro. In Brittany he went in search of subjects that would inspire him. He came and went, ceaselessly, thirty-four months in total, exploring a land of traditions, religion and untamed nature.
