LE PARIS DES GRANDS MAGASINS

Parisian department stores of the 19th century were built on a grandiose scale with two-storey atriums, multi-coloured domes, stained glass windows, light-flooded spaces and huge façades. In competition with modern suburban shopping malls, they almost disappeared in the early seventies. Today, millions of euro are being invested to restore them.
