Ici rugissaient les lions

Inland from the Catalan coast the Gouleyrous Gorges are home to the cave where the skull of Tautavel Man was found. Here, 450,000 years ago, lions, bears, reindeer and mouflon drank from the river. Today, post-covid era humans (holidaymakers, winegrowers, archaeologists, workers...) fight to occupy the space.
