17 May 1940, Montcornet, in the Aisne. At dawn the tanks of the 4th armoured division attack, commanded by a 49 year-old colonel, Charles de Gaulle. We look back at one of the founding events of the de Gaulle legend and the first major counter-offensive of the Second World War.
