You know Catherine Deneuve can literally play every character when she finds herself in the Amazonian jungle searching for a tribe… and her son. Think Jungle Cruise, replace The Rock with Catherine Deneuve, and explosion scenes with caustic humor and you get a great french film for kids and their parents!

Synopsis

Eliott, a naïve young researcher, heads off to study a mysterious tribe in Amazonia: the Otopis. An opportunity for him to escape his stiflingly possessive mother, Chantal de Bellabre! But worried about her son, she decides to go in search of him, deep in the jungle...

This fast-paced, funny French comedy for kids of all ages set in the jungle is a sure win for a Saturday night movie for the whole family. French comedies have a tendency for always happening around a diner table with a few caustic remarks here and there, some tears, some screams, some laughs and a lot of wine and French food: to name a few, Un air de famille, What’s in a Name (Le prénom), Nothing To Hide (Le jeu). Hugo Benamozig and David Caviglioli decided to take it to the next level - setting the movie in the middle of the Amazonian forest but keeping the same witty dialogue, with the right amount of absurdity and madness.

Direction, screenplay: Hugo Benamozig, David Caviglioli (France/Belgium/Switzerland, 2019)
Cast: Catherine Deneuve (Chantal de Bellabre), Vincent Dedienne (Eliott), Alice Belaïdi (Albertine), Jonathan Cohen (Raspailles)
Genre: comedy
Awards: official selection (Alpe d'Huez 2020)
