Inspired by Douglas Sirk's classic, Mirage of Life, this magnificent feature film paints a mysterious portrait of a young woman who is slowly losing control of her life. A strong and complex melodrama.
Victoria never forgot the night she spent with a wealthy white family when she was only a child. Several years later she has a short fling with Thomas, the youngest son, and gives birth to a daughter. Victoria waits seven years before telling Thomas, and his family, about the baby....
"It’s a beautifully made film that proves to be tragic without anything truly tragic happening, leaving Victoria and the viewer rather with an aching feeling of regret for something that was probably forever unattainable, if we could even pin down exactly what it was in the first place.." - The Digital Fix
