A corpse covered with burning fat is found in a fat-extraction oven. The detectives find a tattoo referring to the old legend of the 13th note, believed to help achieve a state of sensory perfection. Commander Marianne Dusseyre is assigned her former daughter-in-law, Sophie Mournel as a team member.
