In the heart of the `red zone´ near Verdun, the mayor of the deserted district of Bezonvaux is murdered. Captain Clara Merisi investigates, accompanied by forensic anthropologist and historian François Gilbert. A few days earlier, another body was unearthed nearby, that of a woman who vanished thirty years ago.
