It’s the story of a young man called Tom who faces moral and practical dilemmas as he reaches a crossroads between a life of crime and the possibility of becoming a concert pianist.

Tom is a realtor who makes a living by striking shady deals. He shares this life of crime with his gangster father, who ends up getting into a lot of trouble when he is scammed out of a large sum of money by Russian gangster Minskov. By chance, Tom has an encounter with his late concert-pianist mother’s manager, who offers him the chance to audition. Intrigued and inspired, Tom asks virtuoso pianist Miao Lin to help him prepare for the audition, even though they don’t speak the same language. Things don’t work out as he had hoped when he falls apart at the audition, but two years later, he has a second chance at redemption...
