Festival de Cannes, 2023 Critics' Week Official Opener. After a child is heartbroken by her nanny's permanent return to Cape Verde, her father sends her there for one last summer together.

Six-year-old Cléo lives with her kind, but often absent father, and her nanny Gloria, who she loves. But Gloria has to definitively return to Cap Verde to look after her children. The separation is brutal and Cléo is crushed. Her father sends her to spend the summer with Gloria.
