Paris, 1967. Five years after fleeing Algeria, Adda's life is a happy one, with her boys and her two sisters. She has a blissful love affair with Merlin, her boss, that ensures them a comfortable lifestyle. But when Merlin dies young, Adda can't cope and loses her grip on reality...
