Bruno Gouery is a French actor and screenwriter, known for his role of Luc in Emily in Paris and Didier in the season 2 of The White Lotus. He started his career on stage and had his first role in the TV series Doc Martin. The French TV show - a remake of the British series of the same name - was launched on TF1 in 2011. The show follows a successful surgeon who at 50 is diagnosed with hematophobia. As he can’t operate anymore, he decides to start a new life and to become a doctor in a small coastal city in Brittany. But the new, calm everyday life proves to be a tough adjustment for him. If the main role is held by Thierry Lhermitte, Bruno Gouery plays Romaric Groslay, the town’s handyman who aspires to big things and isn’t interested in his father’s local plumbing business. The show lasted 4 seasons and featured many famous French actors. Among them are Yvan le Bolloc’h, Arielle Dombasle, Ophélie Winter, Martin Lamotte and Guy Marchand. Doc Martin was a breakthrough role for Bruno Gouery as the series was the fourth highest rated TV show in France in 2011. Only The Mentalist, Criminal Minds and Dr House did better that year! Doc Martin was also the most viewed French series of the year.

After Doc Martin, Bruno Gouery appeared in a series of supporting roles. These included the blockbuster comedy, Les nouvelles aventures de Cendrillon, a modern adaptation of Cinderella, and the critically-acclaimed medical drama Mais vous êtes fous. But it’s on TV that Bruno Gouery really made a mark. He was cast in a title role in Alphonse Président. Bruno Gouery plays Julien, the president’s quirky chief of staff.
