My dear francophiles, francovorous and francophageous friends, if I heard it right during the 3,259 hours I spent in the different LA malls trying to find the right present for the right people (yeah, I’m this kind of guy who still prefers spending five hours looking for a parking spot at The Grove than ordering gifts on the net. I know, I know…), so if I got the song right: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year...”
It is the time of happy kids, of family, of great food (hmmm) and for us TV people, “It’s the most wonderful time of the best-of.”
It’s kind of a TV tradition. During the Holidays, we like to sum up the best of the year in a special episode of our show. And, at Rendez-vous d’Amérique, we just love traditions. So on Christmas day and airing again on New Year's Eve, we have the pleasure to offer you the best of the year in the French speaking cultural events in the US in 26 minutes: The Rendez-Vous D’Amérique Best-Of 2018!
And what a year it was… We had circus from Québec, music from Benin, an astronaut from the sky, a master from the met, a Rocky from Marseilles, a young director from France right in his Hollywood dream and young dancers from everywhere… Just a few of the wonderful moments we wanted to share with you in 2018…
And it’s nothing compare to what’s coming in 2019. Just in January, we’ll be celebrating the triumph of a French Chef in San Francisco discovering the new technologies that were developed abroad, visiting the French-Speaking countries that will be shown at the CES in Las Vegas, and partying with the Francophones talent presents in Park City, Utah, for the next Sundance Film Festival.
And all year long, we’ll take you to the best Broadway shows, the finest art exhibits, the sold out concerts, the most distinguished film festivals; as long as they speak French or are connected with French-speaking cultures, we’ll be there…
And in the meantime, as they say in one those other songs they played (very loudly) at the malls: “We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!”
