Roger Closset (Benoît Poelvoorde) is a low-income photojournalist from Charleroi who doesn’t have many prospects for improving his family’s standard of living. When a local competition is announced whereby a family will win a car by breaking a world record, Roger decides to enter his 15-year-old son in the contest and sets about training him to open and close a door 40,000 times in 24 hours.
